One of the big factors that led to me coming to Macalester is that I want to go to a small liberal arts school where classes are very interpersonal. They're largely discussion based. So I want to develop those one-on-one relationships with my professors and connect with them in that kind of way. And I've really felt I've gotten that in my experience at Macalester.
One of the things I like about our students is that they come prepared. But more than that, they come curious. They have really important questions to ask about the world. And I find that if I can build on that curiosity, and build on that basic knowledge base and that basic level of intelligence, that we can achieve great things together in a classroom.
Macalester has a lot of resources that they offer their students, which have proved to be very helpful for me at my time here. I have had great experiences with resources such as the Mac Center. I was a Writing Tutor there as well, so I got to see sort of how it works on the inside and out. And I can tell, you know, incoming students, that that was a very helpful experience.
Academics at Macalester is really challenging and it will push you to grow beyond what you could ever imagine. But it's also incredibly supportive and there's a huge community here, not just your professors, but your peers especially are here to help you.
